Washington, DC, August 2010 – K4 Solutions, Inc. (K4) announced today that it has been awarded the Missile Defense Agency Engineering and Support Services (MiDAESS) Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) as a subcontractor to Kratos Defense and Security Solutions under Group 3 for Engineering Support.
The Missile Defense Agency (MDA) is a research, development, and acquisition agency within the U.S. Department of Defense. Its mission is to “develop, test, and field an integrated, layered, ballistic missile defense system to defend the United States, its deployed forces, allies, and friends against all ranges of enemy ballistic missiles in all phases of flight.” K4 is providing risk management and technological support for Department of Defense Ballistic Missile Defense Systems (BMDS). MiDAESS work will be performed in Huntsville, Alabama and other MDA locations across the United States.
Group 3 encompasses two MDA functional areas – systems engineering and testing. In both areas, K4 is supporting engineering and test directorates to ensure consistent test planning, use of common inter-agency data sets and practices, and effective execution activities.
K4 will help MDA “develop an efficient workforce to meet BMDS IT and operational requirements,” says Vinay Raman, K4’s Chief Technology Officer.
